FRONT OF THE HOUSE POSITIONS:

HOST

As a member of the host team at Entourage, your smile and charisma are vital to creating a warm and welcoming first impression of our restaurants. You will greet guests, show them to their table and ensure they are comfortable. You will be responsible for monitoring the table rotation and making sure that each server’s section is seated appropriately. The host team members will track the status of tables, bussing them, if needed, create, and maintain a wait list, answer the phone, make reservations using Seven Rooms, and assist with carry-out orders.

Functions + Responsibilities:

  • Be guest focused.
  • Greet incoming guests and thank departing guests.
  • Assist with coats, bags, strollers, etc.
  • Understand waitlist creation and quote accurate wait times.
  • Manage flow of guests in restaurant.
  • Seat guests and present menus.
  • Assign guests to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of tables.
  • Communicate any/all specific notes regarding guest’s dining experience to appropriate tame members (i.e. celebrating a birthday or anniversary, allergies/dietary restrictions, etc.).
  • Answer phones and make reservations, take carry out orders.
  • Ensure carry-out orders are correct when entered in POS.
  • Assist with table maintenance.
  • Maintain cleanliness of entry area and restrooms.
  • Follow all side work checklists as designated by company.

Your role is to exceed our guests’ expectations by providing casual and friendly (yet attentive) service, which focuses on assisting the servers in preparing and cleaning tables and ensuring that the dining area remains clean. Additionally, the busser is responsible for ensure that the server stations remain fully stocked. Teamwork, enthusiasm, basic food/drink knowledge, the ability to multitask and a high energy level are necessary for success in this position. The key to our restaurant’s success will be your contribution to delivering a perfectly crafted and unique experience to our guests every time!

  • Set tables.
  • “Pre-bus” tables by clearing empty plates as a guest finishes eating.
  • Restock server stations.

  • Wipe down tables and chairs using proper sanitation protocols.
  • Maintain the efficiency and cleanliness of the dining area and server stations.
  • Re-stock ice as needed.
  • Take bus tubs to dish room as necessary; return clean bus tubs to side stations.
  • Take garbage to dumpster as necessary.
  • Maintain clean workstations.
  • Ensure perimeter of restaurant and parking lot are clean, neat and free of debris.
  • Learn the menu (food and beverage) so you can answer questions, describe and recommend items, and help our guests find new and old favorites.

  • Work to restock glassware and maintain bar supplies throughout the course of the shift.
  • Change kegs, when required.
  • Make trips to the storage area to keep alcohol supplies stocked throughout the course of the shift.
  • Pick up empty glasses and bottles from the bar and tables in the bar area.
  • Wipe down bar tops and tables as necessary.
  • Take bus tubs to dish room as necessary.
  • Prepare and stock bar needs to ensure a successful shift, including but not limited to: slicing fruit for garnishes, squeezing fresh juices, stuffing olives, preparing and stocking ice molds, preparing syrups, batching cocktails.

  • Takes guest orders utilizing menu knowledge and situational selling techniques. Serves food and beverages to the guests promptly, ensures all items are prepared properly and on a timely basis, and follows the standards set by the restaurant.
  • Communicates professionally with guests to determine their needs and help them with menu selections.
  • Communicates new promotions and product information to guests.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of menu items by describing food items properly. Maintains company standards for quality food; serves only food that meets standards.
  • Inputs orders accurately into the computers, pre-bus tables, and may assist with side-work of rolling silverware, filling salt and pepper shakers, and perform light restaurant cleaning.
